Town Hall Meeting Fills AFSCME Conf. Center

9/4:  While Mitt Romney was preaching against unions and VP hopeful Palin was ridiculing community service; here in PA a diverse crowd of workers were holding a Town Hall meeting on vital issues affecting working families.

2008 Non-State Education Conference Scheduled

2009 AFSCME Family Scholarship

AFSCME International has announced it's 2009 Family Scholarship for children of AFSCME members.  13 scholarships of $2,000 will be awarded and will be renewed for up to 4 years. PA Clean Indoor Air Act Signed

38th AFSCME International Convention

The 38th AFSCME International Convention took place July 28 - Aug 1 in San Francisco, CA.  Nearly 6,000 delegates, alternates and guests attended.  Speakers included Sen. Barack Obama, Al Gore, Sen. Hillary Clinton and AFL-CIO Exec. VP, Arlene Holt-Baker.  Intl. Pres. Gerald W. McEntee and Intl. Sec/Treas Bill Lucy were re-elected, as well as PA's Intl. VP's; C13 Exec. Dir.
