AFSCME Council 13 statement on violence at PA Trump rally
Council 13 is horrified by the assassination attempt against President Donald Trump and the murder and injuries to citizens who were in attendance.
We extend condolences to the victims and their families. We denounce political violence in any form and hope that yesterday’s event will change the direction of our political discourse.
Yesterday reminds us all that political campaigns best serve our country when we focus on positions and policies instead of personal vitriol.
Whatever our differences over the future of our country, violence is not the answer. It never has been and it never will be.
