AFSCME Council 13 demands impact bargaining with Commonwealth over essential employees
AFSCME Council 13 has notified the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania of its interest to impact bargain over essential employees who are working through the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.
Employees of Probation and Parole, Corrections, Transportation, Human Services, Labor and Industry, and more, have been deemed essential and forced to report to duty during the ongoing pandemic.
Council 13 will be negotiating for various items that have been brought to our attention, for ALL essential Commonwealth employees, some of whom were only recently deemed essential in reaction to this crisis.
Similar action is taking place at non-state employers. If you have concerns as a non-state employee, contact your local leadership, your staff representative, or Council 13’s Member Resource Center at 1-800-5-AFSCME.
Public employees are on the front lines of keeping our communities running through this difficult time and getting us on track to recovery. Council 13 is here to make sure they get what they need to safely do their jobs and get properly compensated.
