AFSCME Council 13 endorses candidates for Pennsylvania’s row offices
AFSCME Council 13’s Statewide Steering Committee endorsed Josh Shapiro and Joe Torsella in their bids for re-election as Pennsylvania Attorney General and Treasurer, respectively, and endorsed Dr. Nina Ahmad in her bid for Auditor General.
The committee heard from each candidate via Zoom and endorsed unanimously after hearing their strong qualifications and support of labor unions.
“Council 13 is proud to support these candidates,” Council 13 Executive Director David Fillman said.
“Josh Shapiro and Joe Torsella have proven themselves as diligent public servants that defend the interests of working families, and we are happy to support their re-election. Nina Ahmad has an extremely impressive background and will do a great job taking the torch from Eugene DePasquale.”
The Statewide Steering Committee consists of members and representatives from each of AFSCME Council 13’s eight district councils throughout Pennsylvania.
