AFSCME demands respect for Lancaster City employees
We are calling on officials in the City of Lancaster to respect workers and their union contract instead of trying to dictate working conditions!
AFSCME brought a wave of green to support Local 1896 members by leafleting outside of City Hall as officials attempt to impose unilateral changes to employees’ pay system.
“The city is trying to force a big change to our pay schedule, which would hit our lowest paid workers in the pocketbook the hardest,” Local Union President Brian Wagner said.
“It’s powerful to turn the corner and just see the sea of green. It’s huge to see all the support here.”
We are asking residents to call their city leadership and urge them to bargain with the workers who keep Lancaster running!
