Women have always been on the frontlines of the fight for fairness and dignity for working people. They have turned struggle into strength and solidarity.

This Women’s History Month, we honor their leadership and resilience.

Women are a driving force throughout our union — from our advisory board and staff to the member leaders powering campaigns in workplaces across Pennsylvania.

At our recent State Contract Action Campaign Kickoff, AFSCME Local 763 President Bobbie Jo Zapor delivered a powerful presentation on the struggles that built the rights we defend today.

As Bobbie reminded us, “We are not starting from scratch. We are negotiating inside a structure that was pressured into existence, built deliberately, and tested under real economic strain.”

Through the leadership of so many women in our union, we continue writing the next chapter of our shared history.
