Council 13 joins rally against DOC closures, public hearings scheduled
AFSCME Council 13 was proud to stand in the State Capitol with our sisters and brothers from PSCOA and SEIU, as well as the elected officials who joined us to speak out against the proposed closures of SCI Rockview and Quehanna Boot Camp.
Public hearings on these proposed closures have been scheduled:
- Boot Camp Hearing: Thursday, April 10, 2025, 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Karthaus Community Alliance Church, 34136 Frenchville Karthaus Highway, Karthaus, PA.
- Rockview Hearing: Tuesday, April 15, 2025, 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Bald Eagle Area School District High School/Middle School Auditorium, 710 S. Eagle Valley Road, Wingate, PA.
These hearings will provide information and allow public comment on the potential closure of the facilities. AFSCME members in the region are encouraged to attend these hearings, share how this would impact them, and show their support for their sisters and brothers.
