Franklin County Housing Authority workers ratify first union contract
Congratulations to the workers at Franklin County Housing Authority (FCHA) for ratifying their first union contract on February 28, 2022!
This major victory for the individuals who deliver high quality public housing services to their south-central Pennsylvania community comes after FCHA employees won representation with AFSCME in March 2021.
These workers continue to demonstrate the power of worker solidarity, and now they have an agreement with their employer and – just as importantly – the ability to enforce it.
Special recognition goes to the members of the negotiating team who secured this contract, as well as the AFSCME staff representatives and organizers who have assisted FCHA employees in their journey to union representation and contract ratification.
FCHA employees, and all AFSCME-represented workers, are encouraged to call 1-800-5-AFSCME or contact their local union representatives to learn more about everything that AFSCME membership offers (in addition to a strong collective bargaining agreement).
