On Friday, October 3, 2025, a bridge carrying PA Route 305 over the Juniata River in Alexandria Borough, Huntingdon County, was dedicated as the "Craig Walker Memorial Bridge," in honor of our fallen PennDOT and AFSCME brother, who passed away last year due to injuries sustained on the job.

Craig was born and raised in Alexandria. He would ride his bike almost every day across this same bridge into town and bring his grandchildren to throw rocks off the bridge. He served the surrounding community as a proud Huntingdon County PennDOT employee and AFSCME Council 13 member for 18 years.

It was a solemn yet beautiful day as Craig's family, friends, and coworkers, gathered at the First Presbyterian Church before PennDOT trucks and classic cars rolled over the newly dedicated bridge in memory of a beloved man who we lost too soon.

In honor of Craig and all of those we have lost, Council 13 will continue its fight for safer working conditions for PennDOT and all public employees. Later this month, we will be adding Craig's name to our PennDOT Workers' Memorial in Harrisburg, as well as the names of Robert Greenlee and Seth Baughman, who died in a tragic accident on the job earlier this year.

Craig will be remembered for his bright smile and unmistakable laugh. Above all, he will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, whose greatest joy was time spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
