State Policy Committee Kicks Off Contract Negotiations

On Thursday, July 30, the AFSCME Council 13 members of the State Policy Committee kicked off state contract bargaining. We sent a loud, clear message to the Commonwealth that we are going to stand together, negotiate together, and win together. We set the tone for the negotiations to come as we put the state on notice that we are unified right out of the gate.
We must continue to demonstrate such solidarity as we move forward in the bargaining process and grow the Policy Committee team and this campaign. If you want to go far, go together. That’s why we need more AFSCME members to complete the Contract Action Survey.
So far, we’ve gotten thousands of survey responses that we used to formulate our approach, priorities, and the themes we introduced in this session. But we need more responses to go deeper, especially in agencies we haven’t heard as much from yet.
Please make sure you and your members fill out the survey at tinyurl.com/13actionsurvey to have your voice heard in this process. This is your contract. We need your voice.
If you or members of your local have any questions, ideas, comments, concerns, or want to get involved, please send an email to: ContractAction@afscme13.org.
