If you have not already shared out the Contract Action Survey, please do so now. The deadline to participate is June 30th, 2026 and we encourage you to schedule events wherever possible to ensure full participation. Please check with your members well beforehand to ensure their surveys are submitted successfully. To request a list of names of who has submitted surveys from your area so far, please write to ContractAction@afscme13.org.
Things to know:
- There is a time commitment to being on the team. Negotiation sessions may be scheduled for consecutive days starting early in the morning or extending late into the evening. In addition to the negotiation sessions themselves, effective bargaining calls for putting in the necessary time before and between negotiation sessions.
- Bargaining team members are expected to lead by example, starting with the survey and extending to other actions throughout the campaign.
- Bargaining team members work with other leaders and activists to mobilize AFSCME membership across agencies, departments, and classifications.
- Each bargaining team member is responsible for reporting back to their members on the progress of negotiations and to ensure communication lines remain open.
- Bargaining team members may be called upon to conduct follow ups at their locals or worksites, including to document cases, stories, or other information relevant to bargaining.
- Bargaining team members are expected to conduct workplace actions in their area with Council 13 providing guidance and support.
